This policy explains what personal data Jar Home collects when you use jarhome.net, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it. It follows Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020.

Who we are

Jar Home is an Egyptian home-decor brand. We work with concrete and candles together, and sell our pieces through this website. We ship within Egypt only.

For the purposes of Law No. 151/2020, Jar Home is the controller of the personal data described below. We are based in Cairo, Egypt. You can reach us on 01095845009 or at zadofquran@gmail.com. Our contact details and business hours are on our Contact page.

What we collect, and why

When you place an order

To sell you a piece and bring it to your door, we ask for your name, phone number, delivery address, email address, and what you ordered. We use that to confirm the order, prepare it, arrange delivery, contact you about it, and keep a record of the sale.

Every order here is paid Cash on Delivery, so we never ask for, see or store card details in order to take payment, and we never ask for a PIN or a one-time password. If you ask us to send a refund by bank or wallet transfer, we collect the account or wallet number you give us, use it for that transfer only, and delete it once the refund has cleared. The refund itself stays in our sales record; the account or wallet number does not. Refunds are set out in full in our Refund and Returns Policy.

When you create an account or leave a comment

You can order as a guest, without an account. If you do create one, it stores the name, email address, phone number and addresses you enter, plus your order history. Your password is stored by WordPress as a one-way hash, which means nobody at Jar Home can read it. A comment records the name, email address and website you type, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser identification string, which also helps us catch spam.

When you contact us

If you call or write to us, we keep your message, your contact details and our reply, so we can answer and follow up.

While you browse

The site keeps access logs: the visitor’s IP address, the time of the visit, the page requested and the browser used. Cookies and similar identifiers are also set in your browser, as described below.

The legal basis for holding your data

  • Performing a contract with you. Order and delivery data, and any account or wallet number you give us for a refund; without them a Cash-on-Delivery order cannot be delivered or refunded.
  • What you choose to give us. Anything you volunteer in a comment or a message to us. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
  • A legal obligation. Sales records that Egyptian tax and commercial rules require a seller to keep.
  • Necessary to run the service and meet our obligations. Security, spam prevention, backups and basic technical operation — without these the site cannot deliver the order you placed or keep the records the law requires.
  • Measurement and advertising. The Meta and Google tools described below load when you open the site, because no consent banner is published here yet. We set out exactly what they collect, and how to stop them, further down this page. Where the law requires your explicit consent for this, we will ask for it through a consent banner.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent it, trade it, or pass our customer list to anyone for their own marketing. It leaves us only in the cases below.

Delivery

Delivery is arranged by phone, and someone calls you before your order arrives. Where an order is handed to a delivery service rather than brought to you by us, that service is given your name, phone number, delivery address and the amount to collect on delivery. It receives nothing else, and may use it only to complete that delivery. If you want to know who will be bringing a particular order before you place it, call us on 01095845009 and we will tell you.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

This site runs the Meta Pixel and the Facebook for WooCommerce integration. They measure which advertisements led to a visit or a purchase, and let us advertise to people who have visited the site. Meta Platforms receives events such as pages and products viewed, cart additions and completed purchases, with online identifiers such as cookie identifiers and IP address.

Google

This site runs Google Tag Manager and Google Site Kit, which connect it to Google Analytics and Search Console. These tell us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. Google receives online identifiers and browsing events for that purpose.

Technical services

The hosting service that runs this site, our caching and image tools (LiteSpeed Cache and EWWW Image Optimizer) and our backup tool (UpdraftPlus) touch data only to keep the site running and recoverable, never for their own purposes.

Data that leaves Egypt

Meta Platforms and Google operate outside Egypt, and the data these tools send from this site is processed abroad under their own privacy terms. These tools load when you open the site. Until we publish a consent banner, the only way to stop this transfer is to block or delete third-party cookies in your browser and to limit personalised advertising in your own Facebook, Instagram and Google account settings. Order, account and comment data is not sent to them.

How long we keep it

  • Orders and invoices: for as long as we need them to serve you, and then for as long as Egyptian tax and commercial record-keeping rules require a seller to hold a sales record.
  • Refund transfer details: an account or wallet number given for a refund is deleted once that refund has cleared.
  • Customer accounts: until you ask us to close the account.
  • Comments and messages: until you ask us to remove them.
  • Access logs: for the period kept by the hosting service that runs this site. Write to us and we will tell you which service that is and how long it holds them.
  • Analytics and advertising data: for the retention periods Google and Meta apply in their own systems.

Copies of deleted data may remain inside backups for a short period, until those backups are overwritten.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Account passwords are stored by WordPress as a one-way hash, which means nobody at Jar Home can read them, and a backup tool is installed so that the site and its records can be restored. To ask who holds administrator access to the store, or how often backups are taken, write to zadofquran@gmail.com or call 01095845009. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach puts your data at risk, we will notify you and the competent authority as Law No. 151/2020 requires.

Cookies, and how to refuse them

  • Essential cookies keep your cart, session and login working, and let the caching system serve pages correctly. The store cannot function without them.
  • Measurement cookies come from Google Analytics and count visits and page views.
  • Advertising cookies come from the Meta Pixel and measure the results of our advertising.

No consent banner is published on this site yet, so the measurement and advertising cookies load when you open a page. Any browser can block cookies, block third-party cookies only, or delete stored cookies, from its privacy settings; you can also limit personalised advertising inside your own Facebook, Instagram and Google account settings. Blocking essential cookies stops the cart and checkout from working.

Your rights under Law No. 151/2020

  • Access. To know whether we hold data about you, and to receive a copy.
  • Correction. To have wrong or incomplete data fixed, including a delivery address.
  • Erasure. To have your data deleted, except records we are legally obliged to keep.
  • Restriction. To ask that your data be processed only within a scope you define.
  • Objection. To object to a particular use of your data, including advertising.
  • Withdrawal of consent. To withdraw consent at any time, without giving a reason. Withdrawal applies from that point forward.
  • Notification of a breach. To be told if your personal data is exposed by a breach or a violation.

You may also complain to the competent authority established under Law No. 151/2020.

How to exercise your rights

Write to zadofquran@gmail.com or call 01095845009 during business hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Requests are handled by the person responsible for personal data protection at Jar Home. To reach them, put “Data protection” in the subject line of your email, or say when you call that your call is about your personal data.

Tell us what you want done, and give enough detail to find your record, such as the phone number used on the order. We may ask a question or two to confirm the request comes from you. We answer every request as quickly as we can, and within the period the law allows; if one cannot be met in full, we will say so plainly and explain why.

Children and changes to this policy

This store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.

If our tools, our delivery arrangements or the law change, we will update this page, and the version published here is the one that applies. Where a change materially affects how your data is used, we will say so here.
