Refund and Returns Policy
This policy explains how to return something you bought from Jar Home. It applies to every order placed on jarhome.net and delivered inside Egypt.
Your right to return
Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181/2018 gives you fourteen days from the day you receive your order to return it in its original condition. This is a legal right, not a courtesy we extend. We do not ask you to justify it, and we do not charge you for using it.
The fourteen-day right applies to everything we sell. We do not exclude pieces made to order through Customize Your Piece. If you had something made for you, call us on 01095845009 and we will arrange the return the same way as any other order.
The condition we ask for
For a return to be accepted, the piece must be:
- unused and unburned — the wick must never have been lit;
- returned in its original packaging — you may of course open the packaging to look at the piece; opening it does not affect your right to return;
- free of damage caused after delivery;
- accompanied by proof of purchase — your order number, or the invoice that came with the order, is enough.
If anything about the returned piece is unclear to us, we will call you before we decide anything, and tell you exactly what we found.
What cannot be returned
A candle that has been burned cannot be returned. Once the wick has been lit the wax is consumed and the piece can no longer be sold as new. If you are unsure whether a candle is right for your home, keep it unlit until you have decided.
Items that arrive damaged or faulty
Photograph the piece before you use it, and photograph the outer box as well if the box is damaged. Then contact us. Photographs taken before first use are the fastest way for us to settle the matter, and they protect you if the damage happened in transit. Do not light a candle you intend to report as faulty.
Where an item is faulty, damaged on arrival, or not the item you ordered, you may choose either a replacement or a refund.
How to start a return
Contact us inside the fourteen-day window:
- By phone: 01095845009 — Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.
- By email: zadofquran@gmail.com — at any time.
Tell us your order number, which piece you are returning, and what is wrong with it where that applies. Whether we collect the piece from you or you send it back to us is agreed on that call, together with where, when and how the refund reaches you.
Who pays for the return
If the item is faulty, damaged on arrival, or not what you ordered, we bear the full cost of returning it. If you have simply changed your mind, the fourteen-day right under Law No. 181/2018 is exercised at no cost to you, so we do not deduct a return fee from your refund.
How your refund is paid
Every order on jarhome.net is paid cash on delivery. We do not accept cards or online payments, which means there is no card for us to refund.
Your refund is paid either in cash when the returned piece is collected, or by bank or wallet transfer to an account you give us — the choice is yours. If the piece is faulty, damaged on arrival or not what you ordered, we cover the cost of returning it. If you simply changed your mind, the fourteen-day right under Law No. 181/2018 costs you nothing, so we deduct no return fee.
We refund the full price you paid for the returned item. Delivery is free on every order, so there is no shipping charge to add back. If you choose a transfer, we use the account or wallet number you give us for that transfer only, and we delete it once the refund has cleared. We agree the refund route with you on the call that starts the return, and tell you then when to expect it.
We will never ask you for a card number, a PIN, or a one-time password in order to process a refund. Anyone who asks you for those details is not Jar Home.
Cancelling before delivery
If your order has not yet been dispatched, call 01095845009 during business hours and we will cancel it. Because payment is taken on delivery, nothing has been charged and there is nothing to refund. You may also decline the order at your door.
If something remains unresolved
Speak to us first. Most matters are settled in a single call. If we cannot settle it between us, you may raise a complaint with the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency through its published complaint channels; nothing in this policy takes that route away from you.
This policy is governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and nothing written here limits the rights given to you by Consumer Protection Law No. 181/2018 or by the Personal Data Protection Law No. 151/2020. Any dispute we cannot resolve between us falls to the competent courts of Cairo.
